Brand:VCF
Located in:Personal, Sexual Wellness, Female Contraceptives
For prevention of pregnancy. Begins to dissolve instantly. No hormonal side effects. Kills sperms on contact. Sexually enhancing. Lasts up to 3 hours! Contains the spermicide doctors recommend most. The dissolving contraceptive you both can't feel! VCF is tested by independent laboratories for determination of sperm inactivating qualities, using the I.P.P.F. agreed protocol. What is VCF? VCF is a translucent square of material containing the active ingredient nonoxynol-9, a widely used highly efficient spermicide. Placed high in the vagina as close as possible to the neck of the womb - cervix, it dissolves into a gel which exerts a powerful contraceptive effect against sperm. It is a potent spermicidal agent used successfully by millions of women. You won't even know it's there. It becomes unnoticeable by either partner. Because VCF is small and unnoticed in use, it can be used discreetly by the woman. It does not run and will not stain. VCF is eventually washed away with the natural body fluids. Use one VCF film before each act of intercourse. Before using, follow instructional leaflet exactly. The best source of information on the use of contraceptives is your family physician or family planning clinic. Made in U.S.A.

This product causes itching and burning after intercourse. I think it's the nonoxyl-9, but it's nearly impossible to find a product without it. My boyfriend also experienced irritation.

These films are the bomb!!!! They are very easy to use, even in Summer time; I just put them in the refrigerator for a few minutes and they are ready to use. I carefully form a little cone with it and put in in a plastic tube applicator to make sure it's going to be place in the right place. No more hormones in my system!!! Yeah!

Very easy to use, but your hands must be clean and DRY! I've messed up putting them in because my finger was moist. No complaints about any problems whatsoever. My only complaint is they are only effective for about an hour or two after insertion, so if my boyfriend comes home in the middle of the night it becomes inconvenient for spontaneous sex. I'll keep using them!

[...] Anyways I first used them as a new adult and they worked very well. The only problem is if you try any thing oral while it's in then you will get numb lips or your partner will. Which is to be expected since it's a spermicide. There are plenty of folks out there that refuse condoms or pills or anything really, so I recommend this to those folks who can't be bothered with a prescription(pills), discomfort(condoms), or a regimen (remembering pills or any other b/c a professional administers). Of course it's best to use 2 methods of birth control and protection from STDs but some just won't do that. I think this product is a safeguard for those types or for those who do not need as much protection for various reasons. I haven't ever had problems with them sticking to my fingers or not dissolving or taking too long. I don't see how people are having this problem. But oh well, I LOVE THESE JOINTS!! SAFER SEX, OR NO SEX...I'LL BET ON ABSTINENCE

This product is great, to prevent it from sticking to fingers put a little powder or cornstarch on your finger. It would help if the manufacture pre-powdered them. This product is very spontaneous and easy to us. I have experienced buring with some product this is the best if you have problems with irritation.

the sheets are GREAT!!! how can you ladies have a problem with it?? the box tells you to store in a cool place and what i make sure to do is wash my hands, make sure my right hand or index finger is completely dry and then insert. THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE BC pills. its nice to know, i don't have to worry. additionally, my sensation is great and its not sticky, but SLIPPERY.

Have highly recommended VCF already!!!

I bought this product to use with my husband. Point blank I couldn't even get it in!!! Every time I tried it would stick to my finger(s). I hated the darn thing!!! It was a complete waist of money!!!
P.S. The VCF Foam is very good but the down side is that you have to wait around 45 minutes before having sex.

No Fun
By Grad school girlVerified Reviewer from New York on 2/25/2008
Cons:
Messy, Uncomfortable
Best Uses:
Preventing Pregnancy

I bought this to use as a backup to other birth control methods. It was hard to insert (stuck to my fingers no matter how dry they were), never really dissolved no matter how long we waited (so I don't imagine it was very effective), and it made things very, very sticky (even with lubricant added). On top of that, it caused me itching and burning for up to a day after each use.

It was okay, it took me a few tries, but I most definately use it whenever my birth control pills dont work from anti-biotics or because it's too soon for them to work. The first time it made me numb but you get use to it.

I've begun to use this and I'm very satisfied as the others, like Ortho Options, were so messy after usage! Not to mention all the leaking! And the constant itching! I believe I'm a bit sensitive down there and this film gives me no problems at all. Okay, it is a bit sticky, but not a big deal really! Easy to insert, also. I've also told others about it, too, when asked what is a good choice for birth control.

i have been using VCF for almost ten years and i have never had a complaint. I have never been pregnant and that means they are doing their job!! They are a little more expensive than condoms, but with the VCF you dont lose any of the sensation. My and my husbands only complaint is that you can engage in oal sex after you use them because the film makes your ongue go numb

Hmmm...
By SpazVerified Reviewer from Michigan on 11/6/2007
Pros:
Easy To Use
Cons:
Messy, Not Effective
Best Uses:
Sexual Enhancement
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This product is easy to use and is much better for sexual satisfaction than condoms, but... my partner and I used them as contraception for only a couple of months before I became pregnant. Use this product for contraception only if you wouldn't mind having a baby.

Not worth the money
By Pink from Sacramento, CA on 10/29/2007
Cons:
Decreases Sexual Stimulation, Messy, Uncomfortable
Best Uses:
Preventing Pregnancy
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased these when my local drugstore was out of Encare and was VERY disappointed. It immediately becomes sticky when exposed to moisture or heat so inserting them is almost impossible. I went through almost the entire box before I could get one film properly inserted and even then I think more of it ended up stuck to my finger than anything. It's a nice concept but that's about it.

Not Worth The Money

Cons:
Decreases Sexual Stimulation, Stuck to My Finger
Best Uses:
Preventing Pregnancy
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

I'm in a committed relationship and on a prescription BC Pill. I bought this product because my boyfriend is allergic to latex as well as to let him finish inside. The product got stuck to my finger during insertion. Once it was in didn't have any problems. Except my boyfriend said it made my insides feel like glue(really thick, sticky, etc.)while that felt great for him. It made me lose most of the sensation.

I don't think that this product is worth the money I spent on it.

This is great for committed couples where condoms are not used and birth control pills are not an option. Just put it in and have some great foreplay for 15 mins then you are set to go . I love these so much.
