I suggest using this product with a latex gloves and turn them inside out when removing the product. It's not as reliable when you apply pressure to your abdominal muscles (have a bowel movement), but other than that, it's a great product and I have been using it of over 10 years!
I have been using Instead for over 11 years now and would never go back to using tampons again. Please do yourself a favor, buy them and try them. Everyone I have ever given a box to has always loved them. True it will take a couple of days to get the hang of them but afterwards it will be very clear to you that these were invented by women...now if we can get them to design a bra that is just as comfortable !

I work for a toe ring company so touching feet all day long comes with the territory. I can't stand the thought of having someones dirty feet near my feminine area during the time of the month. Instead solves that. You really are able to keep them in for 12 hours (i.e. the entire work day :D) and in all that time they don't leak, even during a heavy flow (unlike tampons)! They are a little messy during removal, but that's a small price to pay for a worry-free day. Oh and did I mention they are so comfortable you don't even know that it's there? So go buy yourself a pack and try them!
I stumbled on to these at the grocery store. I had been getting infections from tampon fibers left inside. I told my OB/GYN about them and he was amazed as well. No more tampons slipping when going swimming or to the bathroom. I don't need to change it very often. It's perfect for when you feel a little spontaneous. Odor free. Can be a little messy but once you are comfortable with the removal, there's nothing to it.

I've been using Instead for over 10 years and love them. Pads and tampons are uncomfortable and have an unpleasant odor. Instead makes you feel like you don't even have your period. I would highly recommend this product. Others should know that there is an alternate choice to tampons and pads.
We went on a whale watching trip in a really small boat. I kept it in for 8 hours. I didn't need to change it everytime I used the bathroom. Also, it is the only product on the market that allows you to "not mess up the sheets" if you choose to be active during that itme of the month. I know its a little different, but don't let that scare you. You will be so thankful you discovered it. It will allow you to go to the beach for the whole day. Hooray!
This product took a little time to learn how to use correctly. I had a couple of messes during the first couple removals. But, the more comfortable I got with this product the more I released what a bother pads and tampons are. I have heavy flows and would have never thought possible that this one product keep things under control.
I have been using this product for several years and I would never go back to tampons (I have lost two, very scary). I watched an info commmercial several years ago about Instead and I was interested, but it was years later that I had the opportunity to try them out. I happened to start in the middle of a store and my friend offered me an Instead. We have lived Happily Ever After!

I found this product last month and at first I thought there is no way any product could last 12 hours and still provide good protection. I was so wrong in my thinking. This product saved my sheets time and time again. See I was looking for an alternative to tampons because I was tired of going through my underwear just about every time I worn one and leaked through in an hour or so. This product has been awesome and if you haven't tired I very highly recommend it. You will never again have to worry about messing up another pair of panties.
I found this little gem at Target and thought I would give it a try. WOW I love it!!! You cannot even tell there is anything in place when wearing it. Recently I went to buy a new box and there were none at target, I started to really worry that I would no longet be able to find it- I like it that much. The thought of returning to tampons after using this product is dismal. The worse thing about tampons is accidentally pulling on the string when wiping and pulling them too low, then they are very uncomfortable and must be removed even when they may not need to be repklaced yet. No such problems with this product. If you are unsure about this one, just give it a try. It is a little messy to remove when flow is heavy. Gloves would be nice, you can also use extra toilet paper in place of a glove, and I save the wrapper to put it in immediately when removed.
Things that are great about this product is the fancy free feeling you have during this un-wanted time of the month. When I use INSTEAD I forget I am on my cycle....at least for 4-12 hours depending upon flow.
The product is do reliable, you can continue with your everyday normal routine.
Just like a pad or tampon, I know when to change my insert when I use the bathroom.
The product is so little, flexiable and descreet, no one will know that you are experiencing that time of the month.
I recommend this product to all the WOMEN in the world!! It's just that good!!
Just a little hint: use a glove during the removal process for a cleaner experience.
As a woman in her late 30's finding a product that doesn't bog me down during my period was essential. With all the negative information that keeps coming out about tampon use, and having "lost" one before, I tried the Instead...I love it. I can swim, exercise and do everything I could while using a tampon, and also be intimate with my husband.

This is a very good product... i went camping and i didnt have any problems... u cant even feel it.
It is a little messy, But is very useful. I also had sexual intercourse with my husband and he didnt even noticed.
This is by far the best protection that is (unfortunately) least known to women. Not mentioned in the reviews is one of the best secrets about these little treasures and I will now share: Even on the heaviest days you could still wear the same insert for up to 12 hours. How? Mid-day drainage of a properly positioned cup occurs when you 'assume the position' during your normal bladder-relieving bathroom visit. Relax there and ponder life for a little while and you'll find yourself "protected" anew.
Caution ladies: It is always a good idea to be wearing some sort of shield for minor leak protection. On a heavy day, a sizeable mass may get into the bottom of the cup and reduce its effective capacity. In this case you may find that you spring a leak sooner than expected. Change the softcup, and start fresh!
Also, I agreee with the "somewhat messy removal" comments, but it really is a small price to pay.
I have one request of Walgreens: Stock more Instead at a lower price, please.

I absolutely love this product, I have been using it for years and wouldn't buy any thing else, I sometimes pair it with a pad just in case for those heavy days. I am a busy nurse that works 12 hour shifts and sometimes I don't get a bathroom break, with Instead you don't have to worry, it's protection you can depend on. The only con is it can be a little messy when removing but that is a small inconvenience when paired with the long term protection it gives.
If you have heavy periods and can't rely on tampons you have to try this! I used to always wear tampons until I had a baby and my periods became much heavier. Tampons(super absorbency) didn't last more than 20 mins on a heavy day. I finally got the courage to try this product and I love it! It was easy to use but a little messy when removing it. You don't even feel it and can go to the bathroom without having to change it.

I have been using this product for years, but it still seems to be a secret to so many women! I tell all of my friends how comfortable it is and how long you can leave it in (12 hours!) without even having to think about it. I've been with my boyfriend many times while using it and he had no clue!

I found this product to be great! I have two children, 4yo and 4 months, and sometimes things get a little to hectic. I don't have to worry about suddenly needing to run to the bathroom at home or while I am out running errands. Also the first post I read about the women who had to call her OB/GYN and the IUD, did not read the directions. It specifically says not to use with an IUD.

VERY hard to use! had a scare when i couldn't get one out once. had to call my obgyn, and she told me i can't use it w/ an IUD. didn't know that, and had to go in to make sure everything was ok.

I wear this @ work in a hospital where patient care sometimes comes at a time you would normally have to change a tampon. I can work a 12.5 hr shift and only change once.

I tried it once, and it was a breath of fresh air. Now I use it all the time! It works really good! Give it a try, you will definately see a difference betweeen tampons/pads & softcups. It's under $10...that's cheap!

for this product, i think it may be a little overpriced. for one thing, it's not made of medical grade materials [some may get an allergic reaction to it]. i'm not sure it's right for people who are not sexually active, as it may be uncomfortable. if you're looking for a similar product that [in the long run] is cheaper, try the divacup. it is made of medical grade silicone, and is hypoallergenic. [it also comes in different sizes]

I have used this product for several years. This is a fabulous product and one of the best kept secrets in women's hygiene. The product is affordable, comfortable, and easy to use. For those women who use a diaphram this is just as easy to use. They seldom leak. I'd recommend this product. I hope that more people try the product, b/c it works. If people don't know about it it may not be available.

I love this product, but it's only drawback is that if I had a severe cough, the pressure from coughing would cause force to cause leaking.

I love this product and recommend it to friends all the time! It is a bit messy when removing it, but because they last so long, you don't have to worry about that very often. I put one in before work and can wait until I get home to change. They are much more comfortable than pads or tampons. Give them a try!
These things are a great alternative to nasty tampons. I totally recommend them!

I have used these since my last child was born and my only fear is that they will quit making them because the word hasn't gotten out enough. Ladies, these are the best kept secret ever! You simply must experience the freedom you have with these! You will never go back to tampons or pads.
I love this product...I have only used it during one menstrual cycle but its great...I came home for spring break and just started my period but I wanted to be with my boyfriend. He didn't even notice I was wearing the cup. I used to use tampons so it wasn't hard for me to put it in at all...An excellent product!

I would reccomend this product to all tampon users! Insertion and removal require a little practice to master at first, but I had it mastered after the first cycle I used theese. It is the best thing on the market today, imo!

These are wonderful, long lasting, feels great, you don't feel a thing! It takes some getting used to to get them placed right. You really need to know your body well before even giving these a shot. BUT once you know your body these are the greatest invention for women!

These are the most wonderful thing invented. They are great for scuba diving. You cannot feel them, they are very comfortable! While having sex your menstrual cycle is completely unnoticed!
