Putting one of my lenses in after soaking it in this product overnight was the most painful eye experience I've ever had. It burned so badly that I had to sit down to recover. My eye turned completely red and even now, 7 hours later, the eye is still irritated, red, and hurts.
I understand after reading up that using the enclosed case would have avoided the issue. The bottle comes with a label saying "Use only lens case provided"; however, I assumed that using the product in my own case just wouldn't clean the lenses as well. I would never have thought it could cause severe pain. They sure should have a more appropriate label. After this experience, I sure have no desire to use this again.
This is an excellent product. This is the ONLY
product my eye doctor recommends and he's RIGHT.
Its only drawback is that's it's not idiot-proof.
If you follow the directions (this, unfortunately,
requires the ability to read and think), then
you will love it.

p.s. I just love watching the incredibly tiny
cleaning bubbles rise up from the finned catalyst
in the bottom. Very soothing.
I have just been using Clear Care for about a year now, because of my special contacts that I have to wear (GP Lenses - middle w/ the soft lense skirting around it) for my Kerataconic eyes and this was the only thing I could use. Previsouly had been wearing GP lenses and the Boston Lines of products.
Since using Clear Care, I have found that this product cleans my contacts better than the Boston Advance Cleaning Solution and that I don't need to use a re-wetting solution that much.
I use Bausch and Lomb Saline Solution Plus to rinse my contacts off with and then insert them into my eyes.
For people that have used this product and have had burning and stinging, your just IDOITS. It CLEARLY states that you need to leave it in the cleaning solution with the special bottle they provide you FOR 6 HOURS and for that matter it has WARNINGS all over the bottle stating that and to not using it as a solution.
READ DIRECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to get a lot of eye infections, until my eye doctor suspected I was sensitive or allergic to the preservatives in the solutions. Once I switched to this stuff it was great! Sometimes I need to rinse lenses with a saline solution, sometimes I don't. Obviously read the directions--it does burn if you are inept and get it in your eye, but the package insert CLEARLY states not to do this.
My eyes are sensitive to just about everything out there but this particular cleaner doesn't provoke a reaction of any kind. It's become the ONLY cleaner I've used for the past year or so and I'll be sticking with it indefinitely.
I love this product. It has worked the best for my dry eyes. It completely cleans my lenses and I don't have dry scratchy lenses after a long day. It is easy to use just fill to the line and go to bed. They are clean and ready in the morning.
I received a sample from my eye Dr. and will never use anything else! My contacts last 90 days or more now instead of just 30. My eyes do not dry out during the day like they used to. I use cheap saline solution to rinse my contacts after soaking, and it works great! Be sure to follow the directions and let contacts sit for at least 6 hours as instructed, and only in the case provided, which interacts with the solution.

Ive seen a few 1 star reviews on the site, and had to add my 2 cents. Those of you who decided to use this as LENSE SOLUTION are idiots. For one, if you READ the directions you would have seen the warnings that you cannot put this soultion in your eyes, it is strictly to CLEAN the lenses... no wonder your eyes burned. AFTER you clean the lenses with this forumla you have to RINSE them with soultion... otherwise youe eyes will burN, AS THIS is not MEANT to go in your eyes! My GOD... Follow directions before spatting out... it just shows how stupid some are.
I picked up a twin-pack of this the other night when I was fed up paying [$]for a bottle of Boston Advanced solution for my gas perm contacts that didn't last me 30 days. My eyes were always dry when I used the Boston Advanced solution, which caused me to buy another tiny bottle of Boston re-wetting drops so I could pop out my lenses during the day & re-wet them to keep my eyes wet. I have allergies and with the Boston Advanced, I would have to pop out my lenses at least 3 times a day, rub my eyes & re-wet my lenses. With the Clear Care, I could tell a major difference from the first use. My eyes stay moisturized throughout the day. The only drawback to the Clear Care is that you can't rinse with it, so I use Unisol 4 Saline to rinse my lenses in the morning, but it is really cheap [$]and lasts a long time. All I can say is give Clear Care a shot, it doesn't get any better and the twin pack is a great value. Follow the directions & you'll be fine. Ciba does their best at idiot-proofing the bottle & care system. There's multiple red labels warning you not to get the solution in your eyes. If anyone is experiencing stinging or burning, it is because they are not following the simple directions. Clear Care is not a rinsing solution and the box & instructions clearly state such.
I have used Clear Care for years- since my eye doc gave me a sample of it. Nothing else I used got my lenses REALLY clean...but this stuff is the best ever!
This is a terrific product when used as intended. I also use Unisol 4 as a morning Rinse and the combination is a real winner.
One thing about this product is that you have to allow the solution time to neutralize the peroxide before you can insert the lenses. You can't rinse lenses with it prior to insertion. Must use a saline solution. Can't use in eyes.
For anyone that experiences burning or stinging in their eye DID NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!! If you follow the instructions this product will work perfectly. I wear silicone hydrogel lenses (O2 Optics) and I use this solution 1-2 times a week to clean and disinfect my lenses. A must buy for someone who is allergic to other lens cleaning products!
This is a great product. My eyes are very sensitive and other solutions like Opti-Free left them red and itchy all the time. My eye doctor recommended Clear Care and it works great. It will burn your eyes if you don't follow directions and don't leave lenses in for at least 6 hours or rinse with the Clear Care, but there are plenty of warnings on the bottle to remind you not to do those things.
My doctor recommended this product to me when Ciba Vision unfortunately had to discontinue manufacturing the Quick Care system. My eyes are extremely sensitive to just about any chemical and preservative on the market. While I have tried other products, such as Opti-Free (following the directions to a 'T',) my eyes always felt irritated throughout the day. Using a combination of Quick Care and Ciba Softwear Saline, my Focus Night & Day contacts feel great! Honestly, about the only thing Opti-Free was good for (in my case) is the 3oz 'trial size' bottles that I can clean and refill with Clear Care and Softwear Saline solution for carry-on flight purposes.[...]If you have very sensitive eyes, like myself and the other reviewers, give this product another shot - and use it correctly this time! You can permanently damage your eyes if you use the H2O2 solution!!! I think you will be much happier with the results, just like everyone else.
I was on the verge of having to go to disposable lenses or wear glasses full time when my doctor tried me on this solution. It was "The Solution" for my problem eyes. Beware using solution as a rinse however. I wasn't paying close enough attention and grabbed the wrong bottle. Got to the eye doctor quick enough for there not to be serious damage. But he said consequences can be devastating.
Anyone who suffers any pain from Clear Care is not using it correctly. It is very easy to use correctly, but it is different from what you are used to. You cannot do what you did before and think it will work out all right. It won't. If you are disappointed by the results, don't blame the product - blame yourself.
This stuff is the best. I have very dry eyes, and Clear Care makes wearing contacts much more comfortable. Yesterday morning, after my contacts had cleaned all night in Clear Care, I had to use some of my regular solution to take a little towel lint off my left contact lens before I put it in my eye. Five hours later I could tell the difference in comfort between my left and right lenses. The left one was dry and uncomfortable. The right one was just fine.

It burned my eyes so bad it brought me to my knees , I couldn't see clear
for ten to fifteen minutes, and left me red and irritated for days.
My eyes always itched with other solutions. My doctor suggested this solution and I've loved my contacts ever since. It starts out as a peroxide solution to clean the contacts and then changes into a saline solution within 6 hours to be soothing to the eyes. Makes my contacts finally feel natural instead of some foreign object going into my eye. One of my best friends has tried it and loved it, as well as my mom. Highly recommend it to anyone!
This is awesome. I have not been this comfortable with my contacts since I started wearing them 10 years ago. It is just as easy to use as my multipurpose solution was. I noticed a difference after the first night of soaking them. My eyes don't dry out during the day like they used to either.
My aunt reccomended this to me after all other solutions on the market burned my eyes. My eyes don't burn anymore, and my contacts feel a lot cleaner! Make sure you leave your contacts in for six hours, though.
Wow, if you would read the instructions, this would work well for anyone! Clearly says 6 hours...no preservatives and only thing I have used for 4 years....worn contacts for 30 since I was 15. It also has a Red Top to try to warn you away from mixing it up with any other solution. Perhaps only for intelligent users??
My optometrist suggested this product to me after using Opti-Free Express (The green bottle-didn't work for me). I have pretty sensitive eyes and Clear Care works like magic. It's important to read the instructions though, failure to do so will result in a painful day of eye sore. So just read the instructions and all will be well.
I've been a long time soft contact wearer for almost 20 years. There are a lot of cleaning & disnfecting "no rub" lens cleaners out there. I've probably tried them all because I want a product without too many steps to get my contacts cleaned. I must admit when I first saw the commercial, I ran out to the store to buy it. I wasn't too happy with the price but I was very pleased with the product and it's results!
I wear soft contact lenses. I used this product because I am sensitive to the preservatives in other multi-purpose solutions. I found it simple to use and it seemed to clean the lenses better than anything else that I have used. You just put the lenses in the canister filled with solution and you are done. I was able to take the lenses directly from the canister after soaking overnight and put them in my eye. There was no burning or stinging.
The only down side to this is that you have to wait at least six hours for disinfection and neutralization. You won't be able to use this solution if you don't want to take the lenses out for that long.
The people who experience burning or stinging are probably not using the product correctly, although I am not sure how anyone could not follow the directions on how to use this product. They are using the wrong type of lens case, rinsing the lens with the solution from the bottle, or putting the solution directly from the bottle into their eye. There are clear warnings all over the bottle and packaging not to put unneutralized solution directly in your eye as it contains 3% hydrogen peroxide. There are also numerous warnings not to use a regular lens case.
If you bother to read the directions for and actually follow them, you will be fine.
The directions for RGP lenses are a little different than for soft.

Was in a hurry to get to work this morning and made the mistake of rinsing one of my lenses with Clear Care (I've rinsed my lenses for years with other contact solutions)..following this (extremely) painful incident, I had to resort to my glasses, was late for work, and now, 12hrs later, my eye is still dreadfully red.

Wow, yeah. Read the label!!! I guess. If you use this as you would like any other solutions it feels like acid/soap is in your eye. Maybe after the 6 hours it would be ok but I don't think I will try it again. Now 4 hours later I feel like there are scabs on the inside of my eyelids. I wish that Complete would be released again. That stuff was the absolute best!!!
I've worn rgp lenses for over 30 years. This solution is easy to use. Just read and follow the instructions.
Contacted lens went from scrub, clean and sit to drop in and put on. I loe this stuff!

I tried it once, it felt like i had a jalepeno in my eye. That happened once, on accident, and I never wanted it again. THIS IS HORRIBLE!
I used to use a similar cleanser 20+ years ago. My eye doctor recommended another cleanser that just wasn't doing the job. After reading many labels I came across this one and tried it-WOW! I can actually WEAR my lenses all day!
You MUST follow the instructions to-the-letter! Failure to follow the 6-hour rule will result in PAIN! If you have allergies and need the cleanest lenses, then try this solution-it gets your lenses cleaner than anything out there. The solution removes more protein build-up than other products. Plus, because you have to remove your lenses and let them soak at least 6 hours, your eyes get a break and a chance to "breathe" again. This is healthier.
Met expectations
This solution is the best I've ever found after wearing contacts for the last 29 years. Using Clear Care, my two-weeks-and-then-should-be-disposed-of contacts stay fresh and clear for up to 8 weeks.
Last year, I could not locate it in ANY local stores- for some reason it disappeared off of the shelves-- and I had to buy a different solution. My contacts were *toast* within 10-14 days.
An issue and warning? If the solution has not neutralized and contacts are inserted..... OUCH. That minimum guideline of 6-8 hours in the case is NOT just a suggestion! Redness, tearing and irritation of the eye will occur. The un-neutralized solution is so strong that it can even burn your skin.
With proper use, highly recommended if you need a great cleaner.
This product is great. It keeps your contacts very clean and makes those disposables last so much longer. You do have to make sure it doesn't go straight into your eyes. Your contacts have to be in it for at least 6 hours before putting them in your eyes or they will burn. If used properly, it's the best stuff out there... and I have tried a bunch of different products. It really improves the life of your contacts.
The product makes your lenses feel like they are a brand new pair if used daily, and it removes all build up and hydrates the lenses everytime. I now take my lens out every night instead of once a week. After 6hrs of soaking the solution turns into pure, safe saline when using the storage system provided, and it makes them easy to get out of the case and in your eye in the early am.

I became allergic to other cleaning solutions and then tried clear care. It feels like a new pair of contacts every morning. I wear disposable contact and they can easily give me another three to four weeks before I need to change them out when I compare it to my old solutions. YOU MUST READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE PACKAGE! If you are stupid to not use this product!

I have been using this cleanser for two years. It makes my contacts last longer that the other solutions that I tried. You MUST let is work on the lenses for a full six hours to neutralize the solution in the case. It has a red tip to warn you not to use directly in your eye like regular saline solutions.
I have used the Ciba Vision products for years and will continue to do so. I've been told by eye care professionals that this is the best!! It even comes with a red top as a warning so you know not to use it as a saline solution. The Ciba Vision product might cost more, but it is well worth it.
I have been using this product for six months, and the lenses are so clean that they feel like a new pair each time. Make sure that you don't put the solution directly into your eye. The solution needs at least six hours to neutralize in the special container that comes with the solution. It is the best cleaner I have found and keeps lenses clearer and more comfortable for a longer period of time.

This H2O2 peroxide soln. is perfect for sensitive eyes or those who need that extra removal of protein build up due to extended contact lens wear. Although its more expensive than regular soln. it still is the best of the bes; comes with a titainium oxid. catalizing lens case to neutralize the H2O2 soln. and lifts away the protien effectively without damaging the lenses. Highly recomended by eyecare professionals.

THE SOLUTION LEAKS OUT OF THE CANISTER. WHEN I PUT THE 1ST CONTACT IN MY EYE IT STARTED BURNING IMMEDIATELY. I REMOVED THE CONTACT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I DID NOT PUT THE 2ND ONE IN. AFTER 12 HOURS MY EYE WAS STILL BURNING AND EXTREMELY RED.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
