The active ingredient is Borax, a very "green" mineral. I've never seen an ant trap work so well
although it's takes a day or so for the ants to get moving.

I was totally surprised at how well this product worked. I had sugar ants literally coming out of the woodworks. I put the traps out on Sunday and within 15 minutes, ants were swarming around the traps. Two days later, all but a handful ants were gone. One day after that, I could not find a SINGLE ant left. This works better than any other trap or spray I have ever used.

Comments about Terro Terro Ant Killer II Liquid Ant Baits 6ea.:

I tried several other ant baits and none was effective. Ants simply walk around them.

I found Terro and saw several good reviews here; so I gave it a try. Here's my review:

The pro:
First thing I noticed was ants were *IMMEDIATELY* attracted to the bait. This is a big encouragement. I wish I shot a time lapse video of the day1, day2 ... I deployed Terro 2 days ago, and ants count has gone down at least 85%. Remainders are scattered lost ones which I suspect will be gone in a day or two at this rate.

Product works!

The con:
1. The bait requires user cut open via scissor before deployment. During storage, it is common for the liquid to have touched the opening area that requires cutting. I found the scissor to be contaminated with the poison. Use cautious and please wear glove. I wish they put this warning on the label after I touch some of it with my finger.

2. When placing the product as instructed by label, some small amount would drip outside of the container; clean up may be messy. I worked around that by first placing a business card on the ground then put the container on top. That way I can just pickup the card and throw away the whole thing.

Overall, I recommend this product for its effectiveness.

Although I had a little problem with spillage (but I am a klutz, honestly), this stuff works better than any other ant bait I've tried. We don't own where we currently live, so efforts to really control the ants that would require some major home improvement (they like to come in through the windowsills of our 2nd floor apartment) are beyond us. When the ants come in, they go nuts for the terro, and within a few days of finding those baits, hardly a live ant to be seen. I've tried other products and it seems like the ants just ignore them, but they go right for this. I get sort of gleeful, watching the entire colony come to life, looking for the bait. Then a few days later- poof!

Comments about Terro Terro Ant Killer II Liquid Ant Baits 6ea.:

I was finding ants daily in several rooms and quickly determined that they were in our walls. Spraying didn't work, so I went the bait route. I got into the attic, found their major "paths" and then set the baits nearby. I set out about 3 traps at a time near the paths, and then I put 1 or 2 in other locations (near doorways) just to see what happened. The ants consumed the contents of the traps near their paths and didn't touch the other ones (by the doors). I replaced the used traps after a few days with some new ones and removed the ones by the doors (without bothering to replace them). Within about 2 weeks, my ant problems were gone!

Comments about Terro Terro Ant Killer II Liquid Ant Baits 6ea.:

Last year I was going insane with the sugar ants all over our house. Absolutely no other product worked until I put out several Terro ant killer baits at key locations throughout the house. They have to be placed directly in the path of the ant trails, which is the only way to insure enough ants find them. Otherwise, you will not have complete success. I was fasinated, watching them go right into the baits and start eating it. Then out they went, to share their final meal with the colony... After a couple of weeks I didn't see one ant for the remainder of the season. LOVE this product! I have recommended it to several people who have also had great results with it.

[...]it will stop the ants 100%. Keep the baits replenished (if all gone-eaten by the ants) and within 1-2 weeks, they will all be gone forever! You have to have patience - the more that come for the sugar, the better! Don't kill the ants on site, in fact, the more traps the better. The ants will eat them and carry the borax back home - it will rid the entire colony. You must not stop the treatment just because YOU think they are gone, they are gone when ZERO ants show up at the bait traps. Have patience!

Comments about Terro Terro Ant Killer II Liquid Ant Baits 6ea.:

I have used this product for two years and I can hardly believe how well it works in the home.

The only way it could be messy or ineffective is if the precise instructions are not followed.
1. Careful handling and placement out of the reach of children and/or pets prevents spills.
2. Itakes only a few hours after placement for the scout ants take the bait to the nest and bring cack thousands of worker ants. These workers bring the bait back to the nest where most or all of the colony is killed. The more ants you see at the trap, the faster it works.
3. Within just a few days, places where ants were plentiful are completely pest free. And they don't come back, at least not for quite a while... many weeks, up to 3 months.

In short, this is a good product when properly used. Clear and concise instructions, when followed properly, produce the desired results.

I heartily recommend it.
