Comments about Vivitar Vivitar Binoculars with UV Coated Optics 1ea.:

Out of the box these binoculars need bracing on the focuser arm with washers, a longer screw for the focuser arm, tightening of the eyepieces with shims and then - collimation. You still have to deal with lots of short-comings, but its a good cheap pair of binocs to take apart to learn their ins-and-outs. The 50mm objective lenses are made from standard plate glass (bluish), mine did not gather light better than a quality pair of 32mm or even 25mm. Overall great fun to take apart and tinker with, so i cannot recommend it to anyone with greater expectations.
