I am a teacher, and one of the most frustrating things is students needing to sharpen pencils. Not only is it noisy because of the pencil sharpener, but it also wastes precious teaching minutes. I think this is one of the best inventions of our time.
I love the idea and sure enough once you get it to write (grainy start), this pencil writes as smooth as a pen without sharpening. I think the ink cartridge goes a little faster than it should. Very convenient design for a planner. My only big disappointment is that after the graphite dries well, the eraser is useless. I think this is something that will be fixed with enough complaints, but I wish it came with the warning about this. Immediate corrections erase no problem. Sometimes when erasing, the retractor activates, which is a minor inconvenience. Other than that, awesome device.
It's pretty good, it does take a minute or a few scribbles to get it to run smooth. It is good alternate to regular mechanical, and is writing nice with lightly writing. I thought it wasn't working for the first minute or two but it's awesome, after that. it's also not super comfy, either. also the clip, it's not the "best" but eraer is pretty good.
I have had people at work use it to sign documents. They are amazed when I tell them it is a pencil.
Everyone that I have let try them want one for themselves.
Use for everything just as I've used a leaded pencil.
The only problems I cant not find the refills
I've looked everywhere and outside of the refills that came with the pen, you can't find them anywhere. I've mentioned it to several managers at Walgreens and Walmarts, but no luck there either.
Willing to try a new item. I would like to see the liquid praphite just a shade darker. Although being as light as it is, it will erase very easiy and it does, very very clean.
I would NOT recommend this instrument to anyone
I am a pencil/pen fanatic. I will pay top dollar for something I believe in. I saw this product and thought it LOOKED pretty cool and wanted to try it. I hate it. Does not write well, smooth or consistant. Leaks, Bad for crossword puzzle books and writing messages on duplicate pads. Overall, a bad investment. I will never purchase again. Bic/Pentel, etc is much better product.
I purchased these to substitute for regular wooden pencils in math class. The reviewer who noted that the pencil doesn't skip if you use light pressure was correct - but some of us naturally apply more pressure, and in such cases, the roller ball skips, which makes the writing look like the pencil is running out of ink.
One major issue I have with this pencil is that the graphite is not very dark. This is of primary importance to students who need to be able to rely on a #2 pencil for marking scantron-type answer sheets. Contrary to the packaging, this pencil is not equivalent to a #2 - even with heavy marking, a bubbled-in circle is still a shade lighter than a standard #2.
This pencil is fantastic for working on puzzles - soduko or crossword puzzles. You never have to sharpen it - and it erases very well. I wouldn't work without it.
Most comments state "No Refills"...Not sure which ones you bought but mine came with 2 eraser refills besides the 2 that were on the pencils to start with...Great item go out a buy a ton of 'em!
I use this mechanical pencil every day, and it's an awesome writing instrument. The liquid graphite writes as smoothly and clearly as ink, and erases easily. This is definitely the future of mechanical pencils and, once you've used this pencil, you won't want to go back to using a traditional mechanical pencil. The one and only downfall with this product is that not enough erasers are provided in each package. This appears to be a common complainT amongh those reviewing thIS product, so I would hope that Pentech will add more erasers to their liquid graphite pencil packages. As this is a new product, it may only be purchased at certain merchants. However, I am certain that this product will soon be found in the writing instrument section of any store that has an office or school supply area.
I love these liquid lead pencils. They are better than the ones we had in the 50s. They still skip a bit but its the non-availability of erasers that keeps me from buying them for the grandkids. Kids use erasers far more than they write and that does not compute with these things.
Great pencil, but I can't find the eraser refills for it!! What good is the pencil if you can't get the refills?
I love this item for crossword puzzles, its an easy grip for me, no points to poke thru the page, or snap off, and its easy to see on the page.
Writes perfectly for me, even looks like a pencil on paper. Those who complain about skipping and being unable to erase apply excessive pressure when writing (a simple thing to fix). I write in small cursive handwriting and it doesn't skip for me and erases just fine.
BUY THIS PENCIL!
this pencil is as silky smooth as a caramel river. "the best pencil ever" says my friend. we sit around and stare at it because we don't have anything else to do. words cannot describe this pencil. it is simply amazing. take it for a test drive and feel its power gliding in your hand.

Supposed to be refillable but I have yet to locate the refills.
I hate sharpening pencils - and love new ones so I got these. I tried using it during my Trig class. It skips a bit - but I can handle that. However - I couldn't get it to erase with the eraser that came with it or with an eraser I purchased. On the few times I got it to erase fairly decently it wouldn't write over the area erased. So it was just easier to mark it out and go on. However, in most math classes that isn't an option. Would be ok for English classes where you can mark out one word and be ok - but not for math where marking out throws the formula off.
This pencil is great. The ONLY drawback for me is that it's my preference to use a #2 dark pencil. If a 1.25 or 1.5 is dark enough for you, then you'll fall in love with this baby.

WORST PENCIL THAT I'VE EVER PAID MONEY FOR. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT OF THIS TYPE.
My 8 yr. old son can write very well with it, when he normally breaks leads. A friend's son who has fine motor control problems can write more legible with this pencil.
Works great, erases fine. out of stock :(
need more refils. price is good. needs to be available in more stores. excellent!

I contacted the company - they do not make refills for this device (ink OR eraser). The person I talked to said she would forward my request to the design team to see if refills could be offered. NOT LABELLED DISPOSABLE!
I purchased this product on skepticism that there isn't a quality liquid lead pencil. I am so sold on these, I went back and bought more! This is the best liquid pencil on the market!! Pentech has done it!! Writes beautifully and erases with ease.
I like it. But where do I get refills without having to buy the pen again?

Writes well, nned to wait a while before you try to erase. I have had no luck finding refills, I assume they exist.
Love this pencil. No more broken lead!
