Comments about Debbie Meyer Debbie Meyer GreenBags 20ea.:

I was amazed with these bags. A couple of times I had to wipe out the moisture, but for the most part they were fantastic. My bananas lasted three weeks, and they were yellow when I bought them. My lettuce lasted two weeks and was crisp as if I just bought it. I had plums in the refrigerator, and it lasted me three weeks.

Comments about Debbie Meyer Debbie Meyer GreenBags 20ea.:

The first time I tried these bags I had to put it to the test. I bought bananas that were still somewhat green and put them in the bags. They lasted 20 days!!!

I did the same with a head of lettuce and that lasted 2 weeks. I was sold!

I dont understand why other people have a problem with them working but it could be how they are stored.

When you put your fruit or veggie in the bags you store them the way you normally would and just slightly fold over the green bag that it's in. Dont tie or twist the bags shut.

I have all my friends and relatives using them now.

We had lettuce in one of these bags that was still crisp and green a month later. Peaches kept for 3 weeks. The washing and drying of the bags was a bit of a pain but worth the effort.

Comments about Debbie Meyer Debbie Meyer GreenBags 20ea.:

I HATE these bags! What a waste of my hard-earned money! This product is clumsy and difficult to use. Everything that goes in must be DRY and you must keep wiping out any moisture. Furthermore, you must keep folding over the top. What happened to ziplocs strips? Food preservation can be better accomplished using products from Container Store which do not require so many steps and so much daily maintenance.

Comments about Debbie Meyer Debbie Meyer GreenBags 20ea.:

Bananas ripened faster, as did apples. I actually left one apple on the counter and it was still good days after I had to throw out the ones that were in the bags.

I had the same problem with the bananas as the previous poster-two days and that was it! A soggy, moldy, banana mush! I tried oranges, pears, and a few vegetables, and these bags don't do a darn thing. Save your money and forget about them.

These bags have been a great money saver for us. We have 2 boys and are healthy eaters. These bags even keep organic produce fresh for weeks. I no longer throw out fruits and veggies due to mold spots and that saves us a ton of money.

Green Bags work great!
By Robert C. from Buffalo, NY on 5/20/2008
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Debbie Meyer Debbie Meyer GreenBags 20ea.:

These bags are a must for anyone who eats fruits and vegetables. I had bananas in the bag for almost two weeks and they were still yellow with only a few light brown spots. Usually my bananas last less than a week. I have also tried lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes and strawberries and every one of them lasted at least twice as long as usual. These bags are definitely worth purchasing!

Pros:
Keeps veggies fresh longe
Cons:
Veggies need to be dry
Best Uses:
lettuce berries
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Debbie Meyer Debbie Meyer GreenBags 20ea.:

the bag kept strawberries fresh over a week usually they shrivel in a few days. The lettuce has been in one for 3 weeks and is nice and crisp with no browning or rotting. Once in a while I check and wipe out with a paper towel if there is a lot of moisture in the bag but haven't been too fussy about it and so far I'm pleased that my produce is keeping longer
