2007 not as nice as the previous sets
By MikeVerified Purchaser from Bartlett on 12/27/2007
Pros:

Cons:
Not same quality, Price increased
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This set is not of the same good quality as all the previous years we have purchased. Scale is off some also. Boxes they came in are plain cardboard instead of like the previous ones that show the product inside. Also no certificate.
Man on ladder broken,,, waiting on Walgreens to replace and/or partial refund.

"Not completely satisfied with 2007 set"
By JustAliceBVerified Purchaser from Baldwinsville, NY on 12/25/2007
Pros:
Completes village
Cons:
Duplication of previous, Not proportionate, Quality of painting
Best Uses:
All-season room
Describe Yourself:
Bargain Hunter, High-End Shopper, Practical, Stylish

I have collected this entire series and found this year's final set of the series to be dissimilar to previous years: the buildings were out of proportion to previous years', the glitter/snow on the buildings was incomplete on some of the rooftops, the bandstand was a duplicate from a previous set in the series. I was 100% satisfied with previous sets; this year's set was not what I expected; however I needed it to complete the set. Also, the boxes were not the "collector" boxes as in previous years. Even with all these problems, the set is very nice and complements our holiday decor very nicely.

Bottom Line:

Agree with other comments. Not as well packaged as previous years. They're starting to really reach for connecitons to the film. Oddest thing is the people that go in the gazebo - they are way off of the scale of the previous year's people - BUT, those people were always too large for the buildings. And the repeat of the "limited edition" "Welcome Home" sign was annoying.

I love this village set! I have a big display cabinet in my living room and I keep it on display all year round. That's how much I love it. I think that the pieces are very detailed and faithful to the movie. I just wish that they made the figures from the movie to go with it. I bought some figures that I thought would go with the era but they seem a little too big in proportion to the buildings. Other than that,
I can't say enough about how much pleasure it gives me to see the display.

Not up to snuff
By Capra LoverVerified Purchaser from St Charles, IL on 12/8/2007
Pros:

Cons:
Boxes are cheaper, Not to scale of others, Not up to the quality
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

This final in the series looks much cheaper than the other series. The lamenated picture boxes are replaced with cheap cardboard. The buildings are not to scale with the rest of the collection, and the figures are about half of the size of the rest of the collection. Also, the Welcome Home Harry bandstand has all ready been available earlier and is a duplicate.

The pakaging was a bitter let-down. So much of the previous set's charm was in the beautiful artwork on the boxes. If I wanted plain brown wrappers, I would have ordered "adult toys". [@] should commission the same artist and re-issue the newly decorated boxes to those of us who purchased the 2007, final edition. My recommendation of the product lies simply on the village pieces with a strong warning of impending let down over the packaging.

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED THIS YEAR. THIS WILL BE A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY. I AM GOING TO RETURN THE SET I PURCHASED. THE SIZE OF THE DINER, TRAVEL AGENCY AND PEOPLE ARE MUCH SMALLER COMPARED TO EARLIER PIECES MADE FOR THIS SET. THE CARDBOARD BOXES THAT THE SET COMES IN ARE JUST BROWN, LOW QUALITY CARDBOARD. NO CERTIFICATES OF AUTHENTICITY. THE BANDSTAND IS NICE IF YOU DONT HAVE IT ALREADY, WHICH I DO... I DONT THINK I WOULD EVEN BUY THIS SET IF IT WAS [$] JUST NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL!

The final 2007 series is a major disappointment. It doesn't fit in well with past sets. The once listed "exclusive, web-only!" offering of the 'Welcome Home Harry Bailey' Grandstand has mysteriously RE-appeared in this set! The Bedford Falls 'Travel Agency' building isn't proportional with past sets. WHY is there a Fonzie-type 1950's Diner?? The movie isn't even from that era! The figurines are of a different size, too. The Gazebo is the only thing worth keeping. None have their certificates of authenticity or approval from the Jimmy Stewart or Donna Reed's estates. Sent in ugly plain brown cardboard boxes from China. I'm glad this is the LAST set!! I couldn't tolerate another major disappointment next season.

[...] I think all the pieces fit in very well. The only dissapointment is the storing boxes. They could have been a little sturdier. I didn't buy the series because of that, I bought it out of love for the movie and it's simple message: "No man is a failure who has friends!" Life is too short. Enjoy what you have! God bless and Merry Christmas!

I would only recommend based on the fact that it is supposedly the last of the series. Can't have an incomplete set! (This is the only reason I'd recommend.) Brown packaging disappointing, price not worth it. Repeat of bandstand should have knocked [$] off price. As far as OVERALL series, ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED AND EXCITED TO NOW CREATE LANDSCAPE AND DISPLAY THIS YEAR FOR 1ST TIME AFTER 6 YEARS OF COLLECTING!!!!!!!!!!

This set doesn't make any sense.

This set really doesn't make sense. Pieces were added that were not in the movie... the Diner & Gazebo. The Travel Agency is very small compared to past buildings and not very attractive or well crafted. The boxes are not only plain brown, but most are crushed. We have all loved these BEAUTUFUL sets in the past. What happened this year? Too bad.

Disappointed

Broken pieces, Construction different, Plain packaging, Wrong scale size

Very disappointed with this years product. When comparing the past years with this series, the quality is not the same. The buildings are not the same scale size as in the past. The travel agency is approximately two inches shorter than past year pieces. The packaging is plain boxes and the whole set was a total disappointment. We returned it.

I have been collecting Enesco's It's a wonderful life series for the past six years and have been very happy up until this year 2007. First, the three new buildings came in plain cardboard boxes instead of the decorative boxes with pictures of the village. Second, the buildings came without their certificate of authenticy. Third, the series included a piece that was sold in previous years. Forth, the set was [$] more expensive this year.

A Little Disappointed
By Black Bear Amy from Knoxville, TN on 11/5/2007
Pros:
Bright, Durable
Best Uses:
Snow Village Display
Describe Yourself:
collector
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

If you have collected all the Enesco pieces of this series it is very disappointing that these are not in a decorative box like all the other sets. Also, the bandstand should not have been included in this set as it has already been produced. The conductor and band members are not the same dimensions as all the other Bedford Falls characters which makes them totally out of proportion. However, I am very pleased with the Bedford Falls Diner.

What happened to the illustrated boxes ?
By Jane TheresaVerified Reviewer from Wenonah, N.J. on 11/1/2007

Attractive Design, Bright
Cons:
Packing disappointing
Best Uses:
Christmas decorations
Describe Yourself:

Very pleased with the additions to the set for 07. But I am very disappointed that this years additions are packaged in brown cardboard boxes. Why the change? The colorful boxing is an important part of the product to any collector. Why did you decide to leave it out? Half the fun in opening special presents is the decorative boxes. I am collecting this set to past on to my family, not to sell. But I think the illustrated boxes should be considered an important part of this product.

[...] IAWL Village

Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Here's the last of the[...]Enesco "It's A Wonderful Life" village houses and buildings. With this last offering, you have a repeat of the BANDSTAND which was a hard piece to find and a very nice BEDFORD FALLS DINER---which will probably be the most desirable piece in the collection. There is a down side, but minor. Unlike all the previous buildings, these were packaged in plain brown boxes instead of the graphics and pictures on the other boxes. The other thing is that there people (a Conductor & Band) that are VERY small compared to other Bedford Falls characters that were in the series. Easy to loose. This series is still a MUST HAVE if you have been collecting ALL the Village pieces.
