Beware- Expensive Repairs
By Speedy Gonzalez from Pembroke Pines, Florida on 8/9/2008
Pros:
Attractive Style, Easy to Learn, Fast Battery Charge, Fun to Ride, Powerful Motor
Cons:
Battery Loses Charge Quickly, Diffficult to find dealer, Flimsy Construction, Only 30 DAY guarantee, Repairs are very expensiv, Replacements unavailable, Wears out quickly
Best Uses:
Around home, Around Town, Following Surgery, Transportation
Describe Yourself:
Adult, Leisure Rider, Scooter Commuter, Student
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This scooter is inexpensive to purchase-but you make up for it when you have to have to replace the battery or a simple repair such as a loose spring or screw. You must purchase a whole new console [$]) or a whole new battery pack [$] each time. Tech support is very difficult to receive since many of the authorized dealers no longer exist. Be prepared to spend double the amount you paid for it within a year, since it does not wear well.

I use the product as a mobility aide, out of my house. The tires perform well on almost any surface, and it has the anti-tip bar. I wish the handles and handle bar removed for transporting in a vechile. The way in which these seat handles fold down is very convenient and safe.

Not great for all day use
By Fair goerVerified Purchaser from Ohio on 5/9/2008
Pros:
Easy to Learn
Cons:
Uncomfortable Design, Weak Motor
Best Uses:
Very short trip to store
Describe Yourself:
Adult
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I use it to travel the fairgrounds at fair time.
It would be useful to have someplace to carry a small cooler or a lawn chair.
It's not good for anyone with long legs.
Having a key to be able to use it would deter theft if you left it outside a restroom.

Faster Than a Speeding Bullet
By Lynnda the GypsyVerified Purchaser from New Orleans, LA on 12/28/2007
Pros:
Attractive Style, Easy to Learn, Easy to Transport, Fast Battery Charge, Fun to Ride, Light Weight, Powerful Motor, Quality Construction
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Well, O.K., it's only faster than a speeding bullet when it's in the belly of an airplane. That's where it was several times over the Christmas holidays. I used it to get around in the airports, including transfers between planes, to visit my daughter's family. It made the trip so much more enjoyable that I'm ready to travel by plane a lot more next year.

Pros:
Attractive Style, Easy to Learn, Fast Battery Charge, Fun to Ride, Powerful Motor, Quality Construction
Best Uses:

Will use it to travel with my Family. I have a similar instrument at home and it gives my a lot of opportunity to participate where walking would be an extremely painful and fatiguing activity. The ability to fit it into auto trunk and it's weight is managable for my even with arthritis and age 75. Though a woman would not be able to handle it alone.

Lightweight, easy to use
By Mom's helperVerified Purchaser from Fort Valley, GA on 10/12/2007
Pros:
Attractive Style, Easy to Learn, Fast Battery Charge, Fun to Ride, Powerful Motor, Quality Construction
Best Uses:
Around Town
Describe Yourself:
Adult
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My mom purchased the scooter to use on vacation versus a wheelchair. I like the scooter; because I can pick it up and load it in the car much easier than the wheelchair. I take the battery out each time to reduce the load. My mom has a lot more freedom as we travel and I can look at something I want to without having to make her wait and vice versa. The only complaint is that more leg room is needed for a tall person. The four wheeled scooter does give that leg room. The little engine is quiet and travels over small rises in pavement easily.

We went to the Smithsonian in Washington DC... what a pleasure it was to have this scooter! While there they had places available to rechage my battery.I got to go to museums that I would have had to miss. Handles well in crowds.... easy to get up close to exhibits. We did some of the town also. The streets are rough there, but by using care, I was able to go everyplace. Flying was easy. Getting around the airport was fine...... I was able to drive to the gate where the checked it when I boarded and it was waiting for me after we landed.

By Still Having Fun from Orange County, CA on 7/8/2007

Best Uses:
Elderly, Following Surgery, ROOM TO ROOM, Tight spaces, Travel
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My husband bought this online and I was really sceptical without trying it first. What a dream it has turned out to be. So EZ to use and turns on a dime. Only fault is wish it had a key for security reasons. My husband abuses this and it has lasted almost a year already. Goes to the baseball games and fits between parked cars. I used it at Disneyland and was very manueverable in crowds. Didn't worry about running into people like I did last year with a big, heavy and bulky scooter we have that runs like a boat! Great price, see all reviews.

By jefgepVerified Purchaser from Hales Corners Wisconsin on 7/4/2007

Best Uses:
Elderly, Shopping, Short trips
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought it for my mom. She is 84 with dementia... not too bad but things have to be simple to use. I like to shop and take her with me but using the walker was just not good enough. Going into the stores to use their motorized carts is a hit and miss proposition. But now I always have her cart with us to use. She can follow along with me and has so much fun just getting out. Our insurance would not pay for this scooter because she did not need it full time to get around the house but I did not want to wait until that late in her life for this scooter. I want to have fun now when we can enjoy ourselves. I waited for it to go on sale with free shipping and bought it then. It was shipped in a great box and was easy to put together.

Love my ECHO 3-wheel scooter.
By Little Scoot from Old Town, Florida on 1/15/2007
Pros:
Easy Storage, Easy to manuever in store, Functional, Safe, Sturdy
Cons:
Basket could be bigger, Need place to put shoppin
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Being that I have M.S., lifting scooter, broken down, is still a little too heavy for me. I am not an engineer, but I would like to see somehow that you could reduce the weight. In other words, not to change the scooter but to re-invent a way to take off more of the parts to make it lighter when lifting.
