Nice Scooter but lacks several features
By Allan from UIC from Chicago, Illinois on 9/22/2008
Pros:
Attractive Style, Easy to Learn, Fast Battery Charge, Fun to Ride, Quality Construction
Cons:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Added second battery to improve maximum range. Good for 10 miles or more.
Lack of locking power switch or way to tether to a bike rack makes me nervous. Where it would be more convenient to leave scooter outside and use cane inside restaurants, etc., I have to get the thing indoors to keep children from making off with it and joyriding. Shoprider says any attempt to retrofit a locking power switch will require opening panels which will void my warranty. It needs lights. I've added flashing lights after being backed into by taxicabs crossing driveways. This thing is fun, liberating, and a wonderful opportunity to improvise, invent, and improve. When I was a kid, I made a roller skate scooter with all the bells and whistles. Now I myself inventing again. It's a blast!!

I just love my new scooter. My husband bought me one in April this year and ever since, I've been using it whenever I need to take long walks. I'm a polio victim and has been experiencing pain on my left knee which makes walking a painful exercise. But with my scooter, I can zoom in and out of the stores or buildings without any problem. I love everything about it except for one thing. It's a little heavy for me to put back inside the car trunk as I can't carry heavy stuff due to previous surgeries. If I'm with my husband or any other companion, I have no problem. But when I'm alone, I have to find someone to help me put it back into the car. But overall, it's been a great help!!!

I bought this scooter for my mom who is a cardiac patient who likes to go but gets short of breath when she walks. It is easy to take apart and put into the car and then easy to reassemble. It is easy to load onto transport bus ramps as well. She has used it all over and has taken it on an airplane with her. The battery holds up well even on carpeted areas. She loves it and I love the independence it gives her. We have recommended it to many people who see her travelling about! I highly recommend this product.

Little Scoot!

Cons:
Battery Loses Charge Quickly
Best Uses:
Around Town, Grocery store
Describe Yourself:
Adult, Disabled, Leisure Rider
Bottom Line:

I have been driving "Little Scoot" as I affectionatly call it, for 6 months. It was so very easy to learn the driving. Love how it turns on a dime in small places like grocery store aisles. I have severe rhuematoid arthritis plus lung impairments. This scooter has saved me so much with my limited breathing when shopping, as Little Scoot hauls all the stuff for me! I just don't like that it has no 'key' or a way to lock, so have to take it inside stores. It also takes any sort of ramp (even slight upwards angles) too slow for me. Help, get me across the street before the lights change, lol. I always keep a full charge on this scooter. Other than these two things, I'm so very happy with this scooter, my first one. Oh and I'll be 65 soon......but sure wish I'd had one years ago, even when I was healthy! Hey folks...you can save "gas!" Take a scooter grocery shopping and save money!

I cannot walk long distances due to back problems so going to the mall, zoo, or other places where you have to walk either caused me alot of pain or I just didn't go. This scooter is comfortable yet easy to manuver in stores. The speed is more than adequate and I am a plus size woman.
I am very happy with this purchase

People at the park commented how nice looking it was and wanted to know where I bought it.

Thanks - the scooter is wonderful! I have trouble standing or walking for very long. Now I'm able to go places alone again. The scooter is light enough for me to get in and out of the trunk of the car by myself. It's nice to be able to ride along beside my husband instead of him always walking behind me pushing the wheelchair. Planning on getting a second scooter for just in the house. It's great fun to ride and a Great Price!

Finally I can go for a WALK without someone pushing my chair. I don't have to ask everytime I want to move. I've got bad Legs, bad Hands, Bad Arms. [...]

Cons:

Best Uses:

Just got it and put it together. Physically, unit is very nice. Seat is very comfortable (and we are large people), armrests are adjustable, thing assembles and dissassembles easily. Physically unit is comparable to others costing twice as much or more. Unit is made in China. The warranty is disappointing. It is a 12 month warranty with exclusions all over. They want at least a quarterly inspection and service with signature by an authorized dealer, or it voids the warranty. Have no idea how you do that[...]. Motor contains brushes (most motors these days are brushless), which means that brushes are going to have to be replaced periodically. Brake pads also need to be replaced periodically. It will probably take quite a bit of usage before these problems are encountered, and the cost will probably override them. All in all, it looks like a VERY good value. [...]

My Dad bought this for my Mom. I found it for him online and we have been looking for one for a long time, but they were really expensive. This one is very reasonable and what you get for the money is worth every cent! My Mom is approx 180 pounds and she has always had trouble driving the store electric carts, but when she got on this one, she didn't even want to get off of it! She had no trouble going up inclines, learning how to use it, or driving it. Anyone who states that they have trouble going uphill either has a low battery or is over the 250lb weight limit. Everyone asked my Mom where she got her scooter, and we recommend it highly to all who need one!

Marvelous Machine
By Sunrise from Ellington, CT on 7/12/2007
Pros:
Easy Storage, Functional, Light enough to handle, Safe, Sturdy
Cons:
More adjustable seat
Best Uses:
Any walking problems, MS
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I needed an inexpensive scooter that was sturdy enough to handle some serious walking and transporting while at a wedding being held halfway up a mountain and accessed by the chairlift. The scooter was light enough so that my son-in-law was able to hold it on one of the chairs while I rode another! This scooter easily met my needs and even made it up the steep grades at the Japanese Gardens in Portland Oregon! Without the scooter, I would have been reading my book in the car while my daughter and my husband enjoyed the gardens. Thank you Shporider for making my life much more enjoyable!

Pros:
Easy Storage, Functional, Safe
Best Uses:
Teenage boy with CP
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have had a great experience so far with our scooter. It is being used by our 13 year old son who has cerebral palsy and we recently used it at an amusement park. The battery lasted all day at the park. It comes apart into 3 easily managed pieces and easily fit into the back of our car. The only drawbacks are:
No way to lock the scooter if you need to leave it unattended.
The steering handle cannot be leaned on to get on and off the scooter.
And... a wimpy horn!

ECHO 3-Wheel Mobility Scooter
By Sante FeVerified Purchaser from Lansdale, PA on 6/30/2007
Pros:
Easy Storage, Functional, Safe, Sturdy
Cons:
Heavy
Best Uses:
MS patients
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent product, well made, compact and the speed is adjustable with a knob on the handlebar mount. It is a very well built unit. My only con for this product is that it has a bit of a problem when going up a semi-steep ramp with the rider's weight on it, you will have to have someone push it while the rider activates the forward speed in order to get up a ramp. On flat ground, it is awesome and fast, it has an electronic braking system that brings the unit to a smooth stop as soon as the rider releases the forward or reverse control. Also this unit is rather heavy for the elderly (around 60 lbs. with the battery on it.) and getting it in and out of a small SUV or van will require someone who can lift (at least 60 lbs.)in and out of a vehicle. It folds down very easily to fit into a small area after removing the seat, folding down the handlebars, and removing the arm rests from the underside of the seat.

Cons:

My second small lightweight scooter. This one great in most all respects. Would not recommend to someone with long legs and big feet (over 6 foot tall.) Battery pack easily removed and can be lifted without much problem into SUV or large trunk. Small size leaves lots of space left over for luggage. This is a real winner and at price of [$] a real killer deal.

I have MS and have had 2 strokes, not to mention recovering from cervical cancer. I am 46 yrs old and I have been in a wheelchair for 7 years and needed something that I could get in and out of my car and be totally independent. First of all when my scooter arrived I found the battery to be fully charged. It was so easy to assemble and then just get on and ride. Which I wasted no time. The battery lasted so long I was impressed with that too. It was nice to be able to only bring the battery in the house and not the whole scooter when it needed charging.I took my car in for a tune up and while I was waiting for it to get done, I brought out the battery charger and backed up to a wall socket in the waiting area and recharged my battery right there on the spot!. This was so convenient. The last few years I had been almost totally bedridden recovering from chemo and radiation and was unable to even go outside by myself...After my recovery I needed something that I could easily pick up and place in the back seat of my car....I had considered a battery operated wheelchair and even was looking on ebay to see if I could find one. Even though I knew that would be a little heavy for me and bulky I was looking for something that noone would have to manually push me.........Then a friend of mine brought to my attention the echo scooter [...] Since I have had my new scooter, I have been to the local mall, and many other stores that I have been wanting to go to for so long. Not only that, I have been all over my neighborhood and even went and checked the mail. Riding the scooter outside was just as smooth as riding it indoors. Riding over the speed bumps in the road and up and down my wheelchair ramp was a breeze too. The echo scooter has given me my life back!! I was very impressed with the basket (my little chihauhau loves to ride in it) and also the tote bag that came with it too.......not to mention, I dont have to wait at the grocery store for one of their scooters to become available anymore. (This was always so frustrating.) I was so surprised how comfortable the seat is too. THANKS for wonderful product and for giving me my life and freedom back!! I would recommend this product to anyone that needs something lite and easy to handle.

Goes uphill, goes ALL day..scoots up his ramp I built for him. It is more easy to lift into the trunk than the standard wheelchair. truly..a miracle product.

Fantastic Scooter at a great price!
By Red Hat Queen from Lincoln, NE on 1/8/2007
Pros:
Easy Storage, Functional, Safe, Sturdy
Cons:
Can't climb steep hills, No Key
Best Uses:
Elderly, Following Surgery, Mobility impaired

This is a fantastic scooter for the price! It does everything that scooters twice the price can do. The scooter separates easily into three parts that fit into the trunk of even the smallest cars.
It has some difficulty climbing steep hills or maneuvering on loose gravel or dirt, but for ordinary street use it works great. Also, there is no ignition key like in the more expensive models, so you can't leave it unattended and just take the key to prevent theft.
This scooter has given me more freedom than I've had in a longtime. I have an injured spine that surgery can't help. Due to the pain, I had been limited on where I could go. Not any longer! Now I can go almost anywhere! If you're insurance company won't cover a mobility scooter you need to definitely consider this one. It's such a great scooter for the price!

Now I can do it all
By Saturntoo from Flushing,NY on 12/21/2006
Pros:
Easy Storage, Fits in car trunk, Functional, Light enough to handle, Safe, Sturdy
Best Uses:
Elderly, Following Surgery

I have trouble walking. I have difficulty breathing and constant pain in my legs and back.
This make my life easier. I can now take part in other things in life like visiting malls, sightseeing, traveling with family on crusies and airplanes.
Fits in trunk easily. Light enough for me to handle by myself. Battery charge lasts for about 7 to 8 miles.
I feel like I have a whole new life ahead of me.
