I've tried ALL the protein powders and liquids, and this is by far the best. Following bariatric surgery, it is necessary to get extra protein. This can be mixed with liquids or semi-solids fairly easily...just don't have the liquid/food too hot or too cold, or it will "clump"...the tase is minimal compared to most of the "yucky" stuff I've tried!

I tried mixing this supplement with ALL kinds of liquids and jello/pudding types. I cannot get this stuff down. You can literally smell and taste this in everything and it is close to rancid. I tried and tried and tried, because using the Beneprotein would really be an easy option to get my protein in for the day. I cannot do it, luckily, the only can of this I have is the one the hospital gave me, so needless to say it is going into the trash today. I'll be heading out to look for other protein supplements this weekend.

Being on a liquid diet for 3 weeks requires I use a protein supplement. This mixes easly into soups, yogurt, or anything else I choose to blend to liquid.

When feeling hungry between meals with one of the soups, I just added a second scoop of protein powder and it made the difference.

I use Beneprotein because I'm on dialysis and need the supplement beneprotein provides. I was a little disappointed when the price increased recently, but what hasn't?. I've learned to mix Beneprotein gently in a jar with a lid with warm coffee and it works fine and mixes great that way. I use to have trouble with clots in the mixture until I learned to "Shake, don't stir." It works for me. I shall continuue to use Beneprotein.....It's good stuff!

I'm a dialysis patient that require a lot of protein. My protein values have increased after using this product. It is tasteless and can add to anything. Only draw back is to mix it with a drink before adding ice. Mixing with ice causes it to lump and stick to the spoon.

I use this as a low calorie Protein supplement immediately following weight lifting. I wanted a low calorie protein, and this one is hard to beat. It does have a few less Grams of Protein per serving than the higher calorie products out there. I mix it with water or non sweetened Cherry Juice and feel it has little or no taste.

My daughter was recently seen for her yearly physical and they started a growth chart. She is at .05% on the wieght for her peers and at .23% on the size for her age peers. The doctor wants her to start eating the carnation breakfast shakes with extra protein hence the purchase of this product that was referred to me by my aunt. We are pleased with the way our daughter enjoys the shakes and we are seeing positive results with the additional protein and more energy.

Gastric Bypass Protien Requirements
By RubyVerified Purchaser from Indiana on 6/21/2007
Pros:
Goes Down Easy, Good Value, Nutritional, Tasteless
Best Uses:
Everyday Use, Women
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use it in Nestle's No Sugar Added Hot Chocolate, I also add Benefiber. I add two scoops and about 1/3 of a scoup of benefiber for a great protien shake. I drink about 3 or 4 of these a day and eat 2 pure protien bars. This helps me get the protien I need. I had the Gastric Bypass Surgery in October of 2006. You need at least 70 grams of protien a day. So this is what I use besides eating meat.

Good when used in the right things
By EvaVerified Reviewer from Minneapolis on 4/6/2007
Pros:
Goes Down Easy, Good Value, Nutritional, Provides A Boost
Best Uses:
Post bariatric surgery
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have used this quite a bit after having bariatric surgery -- it has really helped me keep my protein levels where my doc/nutritionist want them. It mixes very well with yogurt and pudding. I make my own chai and mix it in, and it tastes just fine. In a pyrex measuring cup, microwave until just under boiling temp: 1c skim milk, 1 decaf black tea bag, 5 whole cardamom seeds, 5 whole cloves, 1 stick cinnamon. Sweeten with 1-2 tsp Splenda. I let that cool, then put it in a Nalgene bottle, add 4-5 ice cubes and 2 scoops of protein, and shake it all up. I have not had good luck mixing Beneprotein with hot foods (it cooks into nasty little lumps), but heard if the food is warm but not boiling, it might work better.

NOT what I was expecting...
By Jess from Barrington, IL on 3/6/2007
Cons:
Poor Taste
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Knowing that I need to have a lot of protein in my diet following my bariatric surgery, I bought the 6-can pack of this product. My dietician said that I could add a scoop of it to just about anything and that it wouldn't change the taste of what I added it to and that it would add the extra protein that I need.

Well, you can totally taste it even in small doses and the amount of protein that it actually adds is minimal. I would much rather drink one of the fruity protein supplement drinks that are available and tasty or choke down a chocolate protein drink and get 22 grams of protein in an 8oz portion.

My dietician also said that I could add it to jello or pudding and you would get protein out of those snacks, too. I tried it with the jello and it just separated and solidified on the bottom of the container.

I am hoping that I can return the 5 unopened cans because they will definitely NOT be used.

Even though product is "unflavored" it does change the taste of the item you mix it in. Simply because the consistency is thickened ever so slightly the tongue interprets the flavor differently, kinda like bland cream.

We are using this supplement for medical reasons to increase the protein intake of our daughter with special needs. Without this our daughter would have little or no protein in her diet at all. It has been a life saver, literally. After our daughter was hospitalized she was given this product and we have been using it ever since. Great product.
