I read the reviews before purchasing this camera, and they were pretty accurate. It is a decent camera/camcorder for the money. When I can get my hands still (I have yet to master digital picture taking), the pictures in good lighting are excellent. It does have a stabilizing feature, but it can only compensate so much. I have already used the camcorder to transfer several VHS tapes to a digital format on my computer, and then burned them onto a DVD (very nice!). I have used my tripod (not included) with the device, rotated the screen to the front, and used the included remote control to take a family portrait. The controls are pretty straight forward; however, this would be where my first major complaint comes into play. There's no delete button, or the ability to delete several items at once. So, you can either delete one or all of your recorded items only through a menu. Holding the camera is also a little awkward as there is nothing to stop your finger from covering the sensor in front. There is the problem with voice sync (in truth I'm coming back to this site to find where exactly to get the patch to correct this problem), but it should be easily fixed. It also comes with some software programs, but I haven't had much time to play with them.

Overall, after using it for the past month and a half, a good device that I have already used to capture precious moments.

I love the camera now that I have learned how to use it. Some of the special features are fun- such as the 2 in 1 and the picture frames. And it takes very sharp pictures.Easy to travel with too as it is small and compact. I can slip it into a pocket or my "fanny pack"

I use it with an external camera, mike mounted to a motorcycle. Does a great job. At highest VGA resolution and slow speed SD card going 45mph it does pause for shortimes to write to disk. With faster card it would probably not slow down at all.
For me it the batter seems to last for over two hour continuous.
Very good for what I wanted.

Pretty good little camcorder
By Gar from Corpus Chrisit, TX on 9/9/2007
Pros:
Durable, Versatile
Cons:
No pause button, Uncomfortable
Best Uses:
Casual Use, Family, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This camcorder works much better than I thought it would. My big issue with it, is that there is NO pause button and it makes me crazy! Get a big memory card and you'll have lots of room (I got a 2 gig card and it's enough for me). It's also hard to set it on a flat surface and record without it tipping over, but that's not a major issue. Also, it's not very comfortable in your hand. BUT, it is very easy to put the videos on your computer.
