I used to buy these before I had gastric bypass surgery. But after surgery, I became more sensitive to carbs, and noticed one day that my heart was racing after eating one of these. Knowing that they're sugar free, I couldn't figure out why! Then I researched the different type of sugar alcohols. Some of them still significantly affect your blood sugar, and this item contains maltitol, which has an glycemic index of 36, whereas Sucralose (splenda), Mannitol, and erythritol have a GI of zero. Not all sugar substitutes are created equal. If you're sensitive to sugar or a diabetic, make sure these are okay for you. I'm not and have never been a diabetic, but eat like one since surgery. These affect me as if I was eating the real thing. Just be careful.

I used to really love Mounds bars, and thought that on a LOW CARB diet, my days of eating chocolate were over, but these are GREAT. Just don't eat more than 3 or 4 at one time or you'll spend quite a bit of time in the bathroom!

This candy tastes just like Mounds but without any sugar. We don't use sugar if we can find products like this candy. It's delicious!
