This product is what the doctor ordered and is not unreasonably expensive. It is bulky and restricts movement, but am assuming this is what the doctor wanted following surgery.
BEST ankle brace I have EVER had.
I play competitive sports three to five days a week. (Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, Football.) I have never in my life worn ankle support and in a basketball game last year I rolled my ankle really bad. No breaks, but the strength of my ankle was completely shot. I bought this brace and was more than impressed with the support it game my ankle. Unfortunately I then rolled my other ankle. Instead of buying a second brace I just switched the one I had to the other foot since by that point the original ankle was strong again. This switching from ankle to ankle process continued for a few months util last month I bought a second one of these. Zero probelms and I have been playing full throttle since.
One of the really nice things is how warm the brace keeps your ankles. I like that my ankles stay warm even during down times of a game. I even wear these in the sand when I am playing volleyball.
GREATEST THING: they are machine washable. I throw then in the washer and dryer. Probabaly best to let air dry, but I usually need them for the next day.
I highly suggest the product.
This item is wonderful! I completely fractured my fibula (small shine bone) playing softball (but luckily there was no displacement). I was very disheartened to not be able to play. After about a week and a half of being in that huge bulky boot the ortho provided, I purchased one of these braces. A few days later (and against doctor's orders I should add), I was playing softball again and it had only been two weeks. I wouldn't advise playing softball with a broken leg - I just wanted to point out that this provides marvelous support.
This ankle brace worked great for me. It gave my injured ankle the needed extra support so I could walk better and with little or no pain. I just ordered my second one.
