I have fine hair, but fine does not have to be flat. I was happy with this product, after I used this my hair was not bone straight, but I like that. If my hair is bone straight it is too flat and weak. I keep a little texture to maintain strength and body when i rollerset. I use a flat iron on special occasions for a bone straight look. My hair was strong and full of body. However, I am a hair care nut and do regular condition washes and deep conditioning treatments

This relaxer was useless! I used it today and it looks as though I never relaxed my hair. I bought this new optimum relaxer because the regular one that I normally use was sold out. What a mistake! Optimum usually works wonders on my hair, but this relaxer burned as soon as I put it on my scalp. I'm not pleased and now I will have to wait another 9 weeks before I relax my hair again. Well, I won't be buying this again!

Worst perm ever. Gave it three tries--failed every time. Doesn't straighten. Dries out hair. Stick with the regular optimum perms (or the anti-breakage lines in the red boxes) for best results.

I READ ALL THE REVIEWS TWICE BEFORE USING IT AND I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE NEGATIVE ONES. I HAVE THIN HAIR AND I HAVE USED OPTIMUM REGULAR FOR 5 YEARS. LIKE OTHERS AFTER APPLY THE RELAXER TO THE FIRST SECTION OF FOUR, WHICH TOOK 6 MINS, IT STARTED TO BURN. THE RELAXER IS SUSPOSE TO BE A MILD BUT FELT LIKE A SUPER. IT DID FEEL LIGHT AND THERE WAS NO ODOR. AFTER USING THE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER MY HAIR FELT DRY AND BRITTLE. I AM NOT GIVING A TWO THUMPS UP. I DO HAVE THE BODY BUT IT DOESNT FEEL SILKY STRIAGHT SO I AM GOING BACK TO OPTIMUM REGULAR. MY HEAD STILL FEELS LIKE IT ON FIRE AFTER USING THE WHOLE BOTTLE OF SHAMPOO. MAYBE IT WORKS FOR SOME BUT IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME AT ALL.

I loved the product the first week. The results were awesome. On the 3rd hairwash, around the 2nd week, my hair looked like my perm was 6 weeks old instead of 2 weeks. I wish it would last longer.

I used this product for the first time about 3 weeks ago and am very unhappy with the results. I have very fine hair and decided to give this a try based on what the box said about giving the hair body and all of that. It was a total disaster! My hair looks as if I did not relax it at all. The relaxer burned my scalp and made my hair feel sticky and heavy. When I dried it, my hair was frizzy and definitely not straight. I've had better results with a kiddie relaxer!

Comments about SoftSheen-Carson SoftSheen-Carson Optimum Care Bodifying Relaxer Mild 1ea.:

I have thin hair that does not require a permanent. I thought this product would be great because it was recommended for fine/thin textured hair types. Wrong!!! It left my hair feeling heavy, course and without bounce. The first time that used the product, I thought maybe my hair came out that way because I did not leave it in long enough. So I gave it another try 2 months later. Unfortunately, I had the same result. Therefore I switched back to the previous no lye relaxer that works just fine. Everything is not for everybody.

Before I found this relaxer, I was working with virgin fine black hair. It was very curly, wavey and frizzy. I wanted something that would straighten and add body and shine. This product did just that. I love the results.

Comments about SoftSheen-Carson SoftSheen-Carson Optimum Care Bodifying Relaxer Mild 1ea.:

For years, I have used Optimum Care's Regular strength relaxer. It's always done a great job, but my hair is fine, so it's always limp and bone straight afterward, so I thought I would try their mild relaxer- what a mistake!

This "mild" relaxer is far from mild- 5 minutes after I put it on, it started burning and felt like my head was on fire. You're supposed to leave it on for 15 minutes, but I had to wash it out after 10 because it burned so bad! Not only that, my hair came out looking FRIED and wasn't even straight hardly! Now I will have to go around for three weeks with my hair looking horrible before I can straighten it again. Only the next time I do it, I will be using my Optimum Care Regular Strength Relaxer.

They say try anything once. Well, I tried it, and once was enough. I will never use this again.

Hi! I tried this new relaxer by Optimum Care and I love it! For years, I've been using Dark & Lovely and it would straighten my hair but it would always end up brittle afterwards. My hair is very thick but I decided to try this relaxer because I wanted something that wouldn't strip my hair after relaxing. Anyway, I could feel the difference as I was washing the relaxer out of my hair. My hair is very soft, manageable and bouncy. The only thing is, it doesn't last very long because I already have new growth and I just relaxed it a week ago (but then again, my hair grows extremely fast). Anyway, I recommend this product; it works just as well as any relaxer that your beautician would give you in the shop.

I have been useing the same relaxer for 2 years, but I decided to try something new. My hair is thin and my ends are prone to split ends. I usually get relaxers in the summer time to lessen the time spent under a blow dryer. I tried this relaxer just because I heard good things. I loved it. I was very light weight and it got the job done my hair looks amazing. I am making a permanent switch to this product. I even got hurt in the process of putting it in (gettin the relaxer cream in my eye which caused a great deal of pain), but the results were so amazing I completely forgot about the mishap. I would definately recommend this to anyone with fine hair.

I have very soft, thin, fine delicate hair which is easy to damage. I need a product that will relax the frizz while keeping my hair full of body and manageable, the past couple of weeks in NJ has been hot and humid, my hair remained straight without using additional hair products to combat the frizz.

This is the Best relaxer I have ever used. The chemicals aren't too strong and the application process is very easy. I loved the way the relaxer made my hair feel after applying it to my hair. My hair has felt lighter and softer since and I've had this in for 2 weeks. Also, this relaxer straightens your hair and it makes applying heating tools to it alot easier. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a healthy and light relaxer.

Comments about SoftSheen-Carson SoftSheen-Carson Optimum Care Bodifying Relaxer Mild 1ea.:

I usually use Optimum Care's Coditioning No-Lye relaxer in regular strength, and since that works so well for my hair I thought I should try this new Bodifying Ralexer for thin/fine hair. Since my hair is fine, I thought this would work. Boy was I wrong. As soon as I put in on my head, it started to burn. I couldn't even leave it in long enough to do its job. Once I rinsed it out and used the other products, I still didn't notice any change in my hair. It didn't have any additonal bounce or body whatsoever. I will stick to my regular Optimum Care Conditioning No-Lye relaxer.
