I used this product last month (Aug) to straighten my hair before a getaway weekend. It was easy to use, the nourshing conditioner was great however, I experienced dryer hair after using this product. I'm african american and sometimes wear the wet look to work when I don't feel like blowing drying and using the flat iron. My hair was extremely dry after a few hours. It didn't have any body or anything. My hair was stiff. I don't use any products when wearing the wet look. The only thing I use is a leave in conditioner and after spraying my hair with the conditioner I noticed that my hair became stiff and a few hours later dried out. My hair was also extra dry after blow drying and flat ironing. I also noticed more breakage after drying and ironing my hair. Overall, this product is not for me. I will return to Soft & Beautiful and use the Botanticals brand. I really didn't like how dry my hair was.

I decided to go back to perming my hair myself after I got fed up with my last hair stylist. She actually left the relaxer in my hair and I ended up having to go to another hair stylist to correct what she had done.
I did some research and saw great reviews on the olive oil perm kit. My hair hadn't been permed in over 7 months and was really in bad shape. A lot of breakage, split ends, frizzy, you name it. Every time I would comb my hair chunks kept coming out.
After a couple of weeks of deep treatments and constant conditioning I decided it was as ready as it would ever be for the perm.
I actually had the perm in for 30 minutes, but I don't suggest anyone else trying that. I was pleasantly surprised to find that in that whole time, no burning what so ever. And I have always experienced scalp burn in the past even when I had my hair done professionally. I followed the instructions precisely after, and my hair came out looking and feeling great. Yes, the smell when you're washing it out is pretty strong but like others have said, which perm isn't.
I had had a lot of new growth and this perm actually allowed me to keep all of it. My split ends, I kid you not, gone. No more breakage, my hair came out looking and feeling silky. It's like this perm actually renewed my hair. I am hooked and don't ever plan on paying to have my hair permed ever again. I even received compliments on my hair and my Mother wants me to do her hair for her.
This perm is the best by far. I am hooked for life.

This was my frist time using the relaxer and a few minutes after I apply the relaxer it began to burn. So I finished my whole head then immediately rinsed it out. And my scalp was burned so bad, it has been four weeks and my scalp is still healing. My hair has fallen out everwhere I will never use the relaxer again.

This is the second time that I've relaxed my hair and both times I used this product. I have to say I couldn't have found a better product. The instructions are well explained (even though I don't follow 100% of it,but that's at my own risk). I believe this product has a "gentle" formula. The reason I say that is because my second time using it, I used on some previously relaxed hair (you should not do this as your hair may be over processed, and break off), and that hair is still healthy. The product smells, but really which one doesn't? This product also come with 2 "sample" styling products which are good to use until the hair is more stable again. Since I previously relaxed my hair to make it wavy and not straight, I had a lot of volume, so if you too have a lot of volume and is only doing a touch up I suggest getting someone to help you. Over all I'm very satisfied with the results I got from this product, both times I used it. I would recommend it to first time relaxer users, and to people who are looking for a touch up.This product's results, with it's low price makes it a great buy.

I relax my hair and I have never come across a relaxer like this one. I have been using it for two years now and refuse to try anything else. It is more expensive than the others, but it is worth it. This relaxer is high quality. It is not harsh like the others, it helps to build up the hair instead of breaking it down. One key thing to note is that it doesn't burn like the others, it is gentle on the scalp. Washing the cream out is not as complex as the others. There is no waiting for the pick to wash out. You simple wash out the hair, and then apply the shampoo to the hair and leave it for 3 minutes and rinse, and then wash as usual. Thinking about getting a relaxer, look no more, this is it! I love all of Organic Root Stimulator products.

I have always had thin hair and I accepted that, until one day my boyfriend bought a hair lotion (Olive Oil Moisturing Hair Lotion)for me which i used and never turned back. I wanted more because my hair was looking great. I then bought the no-lye relaxer and the carrot oil which gave my hair LOTS N LOTS of body, it's now bouncing all over my head. I had a 10 inch afro and I decided I wanted straight hair again. After I made this decision I knew that I didn't want to use just any relaxer on my virgin hair.Initially I was considering going to a salon until they quoted me a price of $90 and up for the relaxer... I wasn't having that, even though I wanted to try the phytospecfic relaxer. So I compared the active ingredients of the phytospecific relaxer with drugstore relaxers and I found the Organic Root Relaxer had all the ingredients of the phytospecific relaxer minus one ingredient. I was excited.I bought the Organic Root relaxer quickly before I changed my mind, and I relaxed my hair. It looks great! It feels great and it looks like I had my hair done at the salon. But instead of paying $90 I paid $[...] bucks. You can't beat it... it's a great product. I will continue to use this relaxer as long as they make it.

Well I had seen the product in hair magazines that I had purchased in the past but never used the product. I was currently using another brand of hair relaxer that just was not doing the trick. smile. So I was having a small problem with hair breakage and my hair was really uneven so I decided to go online and get some information on the Olive perm and I liked what I saw and read, so of course I decided to give it a try. And I am so happy that I did, the results were amazing. The breakage stopped and my hair is much healthier as a result of using this product and other related products.
