We were using Dr. Browns, which were great bottles, for my son's colic. Now he's almost 4 months old, and seems to be alot better. So I had a choice to either replace all of the parts for his bottles, because they had gotten worn out, or just buy newer cheaper bottles. I didn't want to completely steal his "colic" helping bottles, but we def. needed something cheaper. For days, I searched on the internet to find the right bottle and finally found this one. We had tried the Avent bottles, when he was a newborn and they gave him horrible gas. I never had a problem with leaking. I decided to give these a try and hope for the best. Thank GOD! They are perfect. I've heard the nipple collapses, I've heard they leak horrible, I've heard they are flimsy and the bottle will warp, when washed in the dish washer. Well I was mine by hand, they have only leaked once, and it was because my husband didn't know that they cannot be tightened hard, and our nipples have never collapsed. We are very happy! And I will buy again and recommend to friends.
It isn't widely advertised, but this is a BPA-free bottle which fits the Avent nipple. It doesn't seem to leak any more than the Avent bottle does, which is not at all once the nipple has been washed a few times and the parents get the hang of it.
I bought this because they are BPA free and was looking to replace the Avent bottles I used with my son three years ago. My daughter was already use to using the Avent nipple because I used an Avent drop-in for awhile, but hated the drop-ins. I bought these and used the Avent nipples (eventhough the nipples that come with these are VERY similiar). I didn't have any problems with leakage. Sometimes even with the Avent if you don't screw them on just right they will leak - or if you heat them with the ring on, you need to unscrew and rescrew it on after heating to keep it from leaking. However - I haven't had any of these problems with this bottle yet. Highly recommend it!!
I am not happy with this bottles for the many reasons it says you can use the with the avant nipple not without getting a colicky baby. So i changed to Gerber nipples and those collapse. Also the bottles tend to leak because the threading seam to be to small thats what i think i never had a these or any problems with the Avent bottles until the bpa scare and the gerbers seam to be the only ones that i could find and at diffrent prices from [$]to [$]i wish that someone would help me with this
I switched to these bottles from Avent because they are BPA free. I have found that they work as well as the Avent bottles. I use both the Gerber nipples and the Avent nipples and haven't had any problems so far. They sometimes leak, but no more than the Avent bottles leaked. It is the best BPA free bottle I have found so far, for my purposes. The price is great!

I AM A MOM OF 3 AND ALWAYS LIVED BY GERBER, I HAVE FOUND THAT THESE BOTTLES ARE A PAIN IN THE NECK FOR ME . 7-10 TIMES WHEN I USE THIS BOTTLE IT LEAKS AROUND THE NECK OF THE BOTTLE AND THE CAP THIS MAKES IT VERY HARD WHEN FEEDING A HUNGRY BABY NOT ONE OF MY BOTTLE CHOICES

Great...use with the Gentleflow nipples and everything is good. I used the Avent nipples, they fit but tend to collapse. The kids are happy using the Gentleflow nipples though...same shape, etc.
So...it's not really fair to give the bottle a bad mark because the AVENT nipples don't vent so well with them because, well, you're supposed to use the Gerber nipples with the bottles, and they don't collapse! In fact they vent just as wella s the Avent ones. They also occassionally leak like the Avent ones too! But you just gotta test them before using them, same as Avent!
Everything that you can say about the Avent Naturally bottle applies to this bottle.
Nice wide mouth, easy to fill, good nipple, etc, etc..
As everyone mentions...cheaper than Avent and BPA-free. The BPA free part is what made me switch from Avent to Gerber. We were invested in about 30 Avent bottles and switched them all to Gerber Gentleflows. (Due to my BPA paranoia)
Ironically (if I'm using that word correctly!) the thing that made me switch from Avent (polycarbonate plastic) is also what I miss! Why? Because I find that milk fat sticks more to this plastic than the Avent plastic. So you have to use quite hot water (which, again ironically, is what makes BPA leach out of the polycarbonate bottles!) and lots of soap. Otherwise you might get a residual film in the bottles. I never got that with the polycarbonate Avent bottles.
I hand wash them (about 20 a day with twins going to daycare, plus storage and home feedings!) so I am very aware of the easier cleaning of the Avent bottles!

This is a great bottle. I wanted to replace my Avent bottles and I love that I can continue to use the Avent nipples. I have been using the Gerber bottles for about 2 weeks now and I have not had any issues.

This bottle is great! I use it with the Avent nipples and have had no problems. I love that they are BPA free and cheaper than Avent! All in all an excellent choice.

This is a great bottle to replace your Avent with as it has the exact same shape but is BPA-free!! The Avent nipples and collars even fit on it so you can keep using those if you prefer....I have had no problems with leaking and you can't beat the price when comparing to other wide-neck BPA-free bottles - I have to highly recommend!

I switched to the Gerber brand once I found out about the Avent bottles containing BPA. Gerber gentleflow bottles are BPA free and pretty much identical to the Avent bottles (same shape, nipple type, collar and hood). I tried my 5 mth old baby on it this morning and he had no problems except that the nipple was a bit faster than he was used to - but the Avent nipples fit the collar and bottle too, so I'm going to continue using them but with the Gerber bottle! Therefore, I highly recommend these as a replacement bottle!

I found this bottle while researching BPA and I love it! It's exactly like the Avent bottles I was using, but better since they don't leak. I can use the same nipples, too. This bottle is great, and costs significantly less than the Born Free alternative!
Great bottles that are BPA-free. I use the Avent nipples and it works great. My dishwasher doesn't wash the bottles good enough so I have to wash them by hand.
I was so excited to get these bottles, but like another mom, these bottles vent poorly. I used it with the Avent size 4 nipple (experimented with the white Avent ring and the coloured Gerber ring). As my baby drank the Avent nipple would collapse. I never had that problem with the Avent bottle. My baby would normally drink 6-7 oz is now only drinking 3-4 oz, and is even refusing to drink milk. I think it's fustrating him, which is fustrating me! However on the positive side, the Avent spouts (without the spill proof valve) works well Gerber bottles.
When I initially found these bottles I was really excited because they're essentially the BPA-free version of the Avent bottles. However, when I started using them I found that they were very poor at getting the air out of the bottle and thus my baby was very gassy and uncomfortable. I was using the Avent nipples in the Gentle Flow bottle and I have heard that when you use the Avent nipples in bottles other than Avent's, the anti-colic funciton of the nipples is reduced. I would use the Gerber Gentle Flow nipples but the flow is way too fast for my baby. It's really unfortunate because the Gentle Flow bottles are very affordable, available everywhere and they're quite cute but unfortunately they are not well suited for colicy babies.
I had been using Dr Browns & Avent both costly. I found out about the BPA and threw them out. Found Gerber Gentle Flow after researching online and bought them at the Grocery Store. These are a great bottle and very affordable. I wish Gerber would advertise the benefits of their products being BPA free so consumers wouldn't have to do so much research to find out what is.
I was looking for a BPA free bottle but I didn't want to use glass or something with a hundred parts (valves). This bottle is easily to use and clean. The flow on the nipple is "medium" but you can use Avent slow flow nipple for younger babies and breastfed babies. I also found that Nuk nipples fit in the ring of this bottle. I haven't tried it with baby yet but I can't wait to see how that works.
I love them because they don't have to many parts to clean and the most important things is that they are BPA free -non toxic plastic!!!
These bottles have been my favorite. First and foremost because they are BPA free but also they are easy for my baby to drink from. They are very straightforward bottles and easy to clean. The best I've tried and the list is long that I've used. There are very few that are BPA free and that is the biggest problem. I did like the Ventaires but they are harder to clean and are not BPA free. I highly recommend the Gentle flow bottles. Wish these would have been the first ones I tried--could have saved a lot of money. Hopefully they will be available more places soon.
Replaced my Avent bottles with these (BPA free!). Avent nipples, rings and caps work well. Have had no problems with leaking! Also found them at huge chain "everything" supermarket. Just noticed today that the numbers/markers are wearing off. Have only been using them for a week so scared that numbers will be gone after more use- which I won't be able to measure- big problem!
I'm so glad i found these. i just wish more places carried them and their accessories. i also wish they came in multiple sizes. i was hesitant to get rid of my avent but wanted some that didn't have bpa. these were the perfect replacement. my kid didn't even notice the change because the avent nipples fit these too.
Looks very similar to the Avent bottle system.
We tried the Avent nipples and caps with the bottles and they worked okay, sometimes the nipple collapsed when our 5 1/2 month old son was sucking on it but the Gerber nipples and caps that came with the bottles work much better.
There is a slight cloudy appearance to the bottles and these bottles are not as hard as the polycarbonate bottles of the Avent system.
If you're looking for a BPA free bottle system that is similar to the Avent system, these may be the bottles for you.
We tried the Born Free bottles before this and we didn't like it since it leaked and the nipples collapsed all the time.
I like these bottles. My daughter is breastfed and the milk just gushes out of these medium flow nipples. I cannot find the slow flow nipples to replace them.
Just like the other review said, If you like the Avent and want BPA free bottles at a lesser cost then get these. Also, you can use your Avent nipples. [...] Since they are new I'm sure they will be everywhere soon.
I bought this bottle because we liked the Avent. It works just like the Avent but cost about 1/2 as much. Just like the Avent if the lid isn't screwed on very snuggly it will leak. We don't have any issues with leaking otherwise. Bottom line if you like the Avent you will like this bottle.

I switched to this bottle after learning that our Avent bottles contained the BPA stuff...this bottle is EXACTLY the same as the Avent bottles. Someone complained about the bottle leaking...the bottle will only leak if you OVER tighten the collar and nipple. I have had NO problems with leaking and LOVE this bottle for my son who gets bottles of pumped breast milk when we go out sometimes. Yay for Gerber making this bottle!
I bought these after reading many reviews that the Avent bottles leak. Well, these are no different - they leak! I am ready to switch back to the best bottle I used with my other 3 children, Playtex nursers with drop-ins, they are the best.
