Walgreens has developed partnerships with colleges, community colleges, and vocational programs that offer pharmacy technician training programs.

Through our partnerships with educational institutions, we provide pharmacy technician students across the country with real life on-the-job training in our drugstores. Our externship program is an excellent opportunity for students to:

Experience the day-to-day responsibilities of a pharmacy technician
Train under our knowledgeable pharmacy staff
Gain exposure to cutting edge retail pharmacy technology

Pharmacy Technician Students If you're currently enrolled in a pharmacy technician training program and are interested in completing an externship at Walgreens, please contact your school's program director for more information.

School Administrators If you're an administrator of a pharmacy technician training program and are interested in providing externship experiences for students, please contact us to be connected with your local Walgreens representative.

Employment Opportunities Are you interested in a career as a pharmacy technician? Walgreens offers paid training and national certification for pharmacy technicians.
